Under Communism, everyone made the same. That removed the incentive to even invent anything. The socialists looked at Henry Ford and despised his wealth. They ignored that Henry Ford invented the assembly line and created the auto industry; when everyone could afford a car, they expanded and began moving to the suburbs where they could commute.
