COMMENT: I attended the Rescue the Republic gathering and was very disappointed. Peterson merely identified the NeoMarxist agenda, but nobody seemed to have any honest solution. It is clear they do not understand history, human society, and the outcome. Your comments about the Civil War being economic to the South and religious to the North were insightful. They would not invite you because you know history, mankind, and the only solution that history presents.
I’ll see you in Orlando. Please keep up the work. One day, these idiots will see you as the Ben Franklin of our times. I only went because you posted that the event would take place.

REPLY: I did not watch the event. The American Civil War could have been prevented, as could our deep divide today, if anyone had just sat down and looked at both sides. The North saw slavery as immoral. They wanted to outlaw it, not so different from the issue of Abortion. Yet the solution was right there before everyone’s eyes. It was freeing the slaves with no understanding of the economic consequences for the SOUTH and the slaves themselves because 70% of the economy was agriculture. There would be no jobs outside of that field. The Industrial Revolution was just in its infancy. Not one person I have read in the press of the day even raised the question – What will the slaves do for employment when freed?
Take the Iraq War. Here is Tony Blair apologizing. He says he THOUGHT they were freeing the people of Iraq from tyranny, just like the US Civil War in freeing the slaves, but they subjected them to sectarian violence they never anticipated. Saddam kept the religious zealots in check. Removing him unleashed ISIS and began the mass migration to Europe.
The American Civil War saw most of the slaves remain in the South, and instead of getting free room and board, they now had to pay for that and, in return, receive a wage. This was not an easy solution. The 14th Amendment that they tried to use against Trump was to bar anyone from the South from holding office in Washington – a different form of tyranny whereby the South was just conquered and denied representation in a pretend Republic. The LEFT is already pushing the CANCEL CULTURE and rigging votes to suppress the opposition. We have no viable republic anymore. We have crossed the Rubicon already. There is no ending this nightmare.
If we looked at things from the middle ground, slavery was IMMORAL to the North, yet the foundation of the economy with a labor force to the SOUTH. Had anyone proposed a solution of a transition from slavery to wage employment and proposed such a transition, the war could have been avoided.
The entire US Civil War and the freeing of the slaves were set in motion by Russia. Alexander II freed all the serfs, and his Emancipation was used to push the US to follow suit. In Russia, the serfs also did not own land, and the same transition unfolded, but this eventually led to the Communist Revolution because the serfs owned no land of their own. As I have said, the LEFT always becomes violent because they preach that they are the victims of the capitalists.
What you experienced at Rescue the Republic was the classic issues that only illustrated the deep divide. As always, they pointed to the other side, yet nobody even looked at the outcome. Just like with the Civil War, Russia freeing the serfs, or even the Iraq War, there was NEVER any practical understanding of the consequences of their actions.
Rescuing the Republic is absurd. It presumes that the LEFT will suddenly realize they are wrong. With both sides throwing eggs at each other, there is no solution when one side yields to be suppressed by the other. Get real! Their failure to understand history and even human society only propells us into war.
PS, I don’t want to be like Ben Franklin and be carried into the next Constitutional Convention because I can no longer walk. Let someone else take that honor. I have done what destiny has compelled me to do. I have experienced it all from the outside and the inside. As I always have said, a man cannot write a book about how it FEELS to give birth without experience.
