Kamala Harris proudly said that this was the first time in US history that no American soldier was stationed in an active warzone – a blatant lie. The Pentagon recently admitted it failed to send absentee ballots to active service members abroad. Why would the Pentagon want to prevent our military patriots from voting?
This is more than a mere misstep. Some servicemembers who requested a ballot were told the stockpile on their base was depleted and had not been replenished.
GOP Reps. Brian Mast (R-FL), Bill Huizenga (R-MI), and Mike Waltz (R-FL) penned a letter to Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin asking for answers. “Our nation’s brave men and women in uniform brought to our attention that there has been inadequate education at the administrative level on how to register to vote, request an absentee ballot, and fill in a federal write-in absentee ballot if their state-issued ballot does not arrive in time,” the letter reads.
Some claim this is Republican propaganda as servicemembers can apply to vote online, but the GOP claims there has been “inadequate education” surrounding how to vote while deployed. It is still curious why providing our heroes ballots was not a top priority since the result of this election will have a direct impact on their future.
