The Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose at annualized rate of 4% in May, marking the lowest rise in two years, according to the Labor Department. Core inflation rose 0.4% for the month, up 5.3% year-on-year. This is promising news and further indication that the Federal Open Market Committee may vote to pause rate hikes at their meeting this week.
